MATL signed jewelry by Matilde Eugenia Poulat came on the scene in the 1930s and have since become an iconic example of Mexican artistry and craft. MATL originals command the prices they should, and because imitations often follow great designers, there are many great pieces in a MATL style that have the age and vibrancy of true MATL pieces, but they come with a bit less custodial responsibility.
this pair is a striking example of MATL-inspired earrings and they've been cared for over the years, so all of the original stones are in place, which isn't always a given

C O N D I T I O N
in good vintage condition
these have been stored more than they were worn, so they're in great condition, but also have time-earned patina and age spots
the silver and solder used to craft these earrings are on the low grade, less refined side, which means they wouldn't be great for ears sensitive to copper or other metals that show up in silver solder
stones are all secure in their settings, but will show minor surface wear
the earring backs are original, but mismatched
this is a vintage item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved
